Location & Tracking Data

As a GPS tracking service provider, the collection of location data is central to what we do. We take the handling of this sensitive data seriously.

Important: GPS location data is collected only for vehicles and devices where the account holder has authorised tracking. You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to track any vehicle or individual using our services.

The following location and telematics data may be collected through the Navixy platform:

  • Real-time GPS coordinates and location history
  • Vehicle speed, mileage, and route history
  • Engine status, idling events, and geofence breaches
  • Driver behaviour data (harsh braking, acceleration, cornering)
  • Mobile phone location (when the Navixy app is active)
  • Power cut and tamper alerts

This data is stored and processed on the Navixy platform operated by SquareGPS Inc. DFL GPS acts as a reseller and does not operate the data infrastructure directly. Please refer to the Navixy Privacy Policy for full details on how your tracking data is handled at the platform level.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Service delivery — to install, configure, and support your GPS tracking devices and platform access
  • Account management — to manage your subscription, billing, and plan details
  • Customer support — to respond to enquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical assistance
  • Service improvement — to understand how our services are used and identify areas for improvement
  • Communications — to send important notices about your service, subscription renewals, or changes to our policies
  • Legal compliance — to comply with applicable laws and regulations in Trinidad and Tobago

  • Teltonika — device firmware and technical data may be associated with hardware warranty and support
  • Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics to understand website traffic. Data is anonymised and aggregated. You may opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
  • Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority in Trinidad and Tobago
  • Business transfers — in the event of a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred to the successor entity

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services to you. Specifically:

  • Active accounts — data is retained for the duration of your subscription
  • Inactive accounts — contact and account data is retained for up to 12 months after your last interaction
  • GPS tracking data — location history is retained on the Navixy platform per their data retention terms (typically 30 days post-termination for deletion)
  • Legal obligations — certain records may be retained longer where required by Trinidad and Tobago law

You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 13.

Data Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. The following measures are in place to protect your data:

  • All data transmitted between your device and the Navixy platform is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security)
